The OmniScan™ MX ECA/ECT flaw detector is used to perform eddy current array testing inspections. The test configuration supports 32 sensor coils (up to 64 with an external multiplexer) working in bridge or transmit-receive mode. The operating frequency ranges from 20 Hz to 6 MHz with the option of using multiple frequencies in the same acquisition.

NORTEC 600 - Surface and Subsurface Inspections Configuration Guide

In this instructional video, you'll learn how to properly configure the NORTEC® 600 eddy current flaw detector for surface and subsurface crack inspections. The following method is the fastest way to obtain consistent signals and accurate results: 1. Connect an appropriate probe to the instrument and turn on the NORTEC 600. 2. Select either "Surface Cracks" or "Subsurface" from the application selection menu. 3. Enter the correct test frequency. 4. Place the probe on a defect-free area of the standard. 5. Press and hold the "Null" key and lift the probe when you hear a beep. 6. Place the probe on a defect-free area of the standard and press the "Null" key once. 7. Scan the sample and press the "Freeze" key. 8. Adjust and fine-tune the horizontal angle, attempting to set it as flat as possible. 9. Adjust the H and V Gains to finish calibrating the scan. Some additional features that may be useful in some applications include: The "D Erase" function erases the Eddy Current display at time intervals set by the user. "Persist" mode erases all information at a point after a selected amount of time has expired.
